This position is in the Department of Woman, Child and Adolescent Health, whose mission is to provide quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to address health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth to the age of 16. It works towards the development of advanced specialty competence centers. The pediatric and adolescent surgery department covers surgical treatment for congenital diseases, illnesses, or the aftermath of accidents; it particularly includes surgical treatment and follow-up from birth to adulthood. It also covers the monitoring of potential surgical problems that do not require surgical intervention. The pediatric and adolescent surgery department serves as a primary, secondary, and tertiary center, treating children with common and simple conditions as well as complex and highly specialized problems. Geneva is the reference center for pediatric liver diseases and pediatric surgery.As a medical assistant in the surgery unit (50%), you ensure the quality of treatment during patient visits and play a key role in linking clinical aspects with patient management within the surgery unit for children with surgical conditions, particularly those who are hospitalized. You coordinate examinations and request imaging or other tests, respond to the phone of the intern during visits, and establish prescriptions or take medical histories when the intern doctor is unavailable. You are also responsible for coordinating the discharge of patients, which includes planning follow-up appointments in the outpatient clinic, preparing discharge documents, organizing home care with liaison nursing staff if necessary, overseeing the flow of medical documents to ensure they are accurate and up to date, and supervising various tasks within the unit.You may need to work overtime to meet the service's needs, which will be compensated with time off. There are no night shifts or weekend work. You must hold a medical degree or a degree deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO). You possess clinical experience, preferably in a surgical hospital environment, and/or are proficient with common tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word ) and ideally have experience with the specialized tools at the Geneva University Hospitals. You have excellent interpersonal skills and good priority management abilities.
