Cheshire Coroner's Court provides an award-winning service to the residents of Cheshire and is led by HM Senior Coroner Jacqueline Devonish, working alongside a team of five Coroners. As an administrator, the successful candidate will work closely with a supportive team of four administrators and three court ushers who help manage the daily running of the court. The role also involves regular contact with investigative officers from Cheshire Police, who assist with case enquiries. This is a collaborative environment where the administrative team plays an essential part in ensuring the court operates smoothly and professionally.
The roleOur administrators play a key part in supporting the daily operations of Cheshire Coroner's Court. This role involves managing a variety of administrative tasks that help ensure cases progress smoothly and the court runs efficiently. Day-to-day duties may include handling incoming enquiries, preparing and updating case files, scheduling appointments or hearings, processing documentation, and supporting coroners, witnesses, and families with clear and sensitive communication. The successful candidate will also liaise with external stakeholders such as police investigative officers, funeral directors, and medical professionals as part of the wider case-handling process.
This is a role suited to someone who is organised, approachable, and able to work with empathy and professionalism. You will be part of a supportive team where attention to detail, confidentiality, and teamwork are essential. Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, typically working37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional flexibility may be required to support court schedules or urgent case activity, but this will be discussed in advance where possible. This role is based full-time in the court building on Museum Street in Warrington. It is not a hybrid or remote working role.
