Department: Criminal Justice & Custody

Location: Hatfield

Grade: A3

Salary: 48.84 (pro rata if part time)

Shift allowance: additional pay point 1 37

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team dedicated to the management of criminal cases from the police into the Criminal Justice partnership. As a Case Coordinator, you will have responsibility and oversight of higher profile cases, and support a small team of Case Administrators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Progress remand cases to the Remand Court, ensuring release of high risk offenders is considered by the Judiciary daily.
  • Gather up to date information for remanded offenders applying for bail, enabling the Court to consider appropriate bail conditions.
  • Allocate charge and bail cases across teams and into appropriate Court hearings, and process Postal Requisition cases efficiently.
  • First line manager for a small team - manage training, development, workload, and enquiry management from Crown Prosecution Service.
  • Handle enquiries from the Judiciary, prioritise responses.
  • Refer victims and witnesses to appropriate Victim and Witness care units.
  • Report to a Team Leader and contribute to the Criminal Justice partnership.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Successful completion of probationary period for internal applicants.
  • Relevant experience in criminal case management preferred.
  • Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Cambridgeshire.
  • Compliance with vetting requirements (BCH Vetting Unit, 2025 National Guidelines).
