Are you our next Associate Director / Director within our Actuarial Advisory department?

Location: Dublin, as part of our hybrid working model.

Grade: Experienced Qualified Non-Life Actuary

Contract type: Permanent

A snapshot of your peer group:

  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the non-life (re)insurance market, gained in either consulting or industry;
  • Fellow or Associate of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent recognised actuarial body;
  • Experience leading complex actuarial engagements and acting as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, including boards, audit committees and executive management;
  • Experience performing or supporting actuarial roles such as Head of Actuarial Function, Reviewing Actuary, Independent Actuary or Audit Specialist;
  • Strong knowledge of the Irish and European non-life insurance regulatory environment including Solvency II and IFRS 17;
  • Experience managing and developing teams, including coaching, mentoring and overseeing delivery across multiple engagements;
  • Business development experience, including identifying opportunities, developing client relationships and contributing to proposals and market initiatives.

Your responsibilities and achievements will evolve as you enhance your career with us. Here is what you can initially expect:

  • Provide support to or act as Head of Actuarial Function and Reviewing Actuary across a portfolio of insurance and reinsurance clients;
  • Lead independent actuarial reviews and provide advice to clients on reserving, pricing, capital and risk management matters;
  • Provide support to or act as Lead Audit Specialist for a portfolio of audit clients, overseeing the delivery of actuarial audit support services, reviewing key actuarial judgements and working closely with audit engagement teams;
  • Lead multi-disciplinary client engagements involving actuarial, consulting, accounting advisory and deal advisory colleagues;
  • Provide technical oversight, coaching and quality review across actuarial engagements, and support the continued development of the wider actuarial team;
  • Take a leading role in business development activities including originating opportunities, preparing proposals and developing thought leadership;
  • Contribute to the strategic development and growth of KPMG's actuarial practice.

Your team:

The Actuarial Advisory practice offers a full range of services to our insurance and reinsurance across independent actuarial reviews, outsourced statutory actuarial roles, Solvency II advice, IFRS 17, ESG, internal/ standard model development and validation, technical support to our audit practice, financial reporting advice, resource support and working alongside other KPMG professionals including tax, regulatory, risk management, applied intelligence and management/ IT consulting advisory services.
