Job Description

SPECTRUM ACOUSTIC CONSULTANTS LTD is one of the UK's leading independent firms of acoustic consultants, with a track record of prestigious and challenging projects covering the arts, commercial, leisure, residential and industrial sectors - both in the UK and worldwide. We are looking for people with consultancy experience to join our dynamic team in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. Whether you are in the early stages of your career, progressing at a senior level, or more experienced with many years of work, the role will evolve according to your experience. Less experienced consultants will be trained to run several concurrent small to medium sized projects independently, and to collaborate on larger projects as part of a small team. More experienced staff will work self sufficiently, provide training for others and benefit from the wider team. All staff are encouraged to develop and nurture client relationships, manage projects from initial enquiry and quoting through to execution, reporting and invoicing, and to pursue career progression through learning and training. In 2023, Spectrum became an Employee Owned Trust, meaning all staff are owners of the business and share in the company's financial success.

APPLICANT CRITERIA
  • Experience in environmental acoustics, building acoustics, industrial acoustics and building services acoustics, which may include preparation of Environmental Statements. You will be a good communicator, able to work on your own as well as part of a small team.
  • A degree with relevant acoustics content or a general engineering degree and the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Diploma. We expect staff to be TechIOA, AMIOA, MIOA or FIOA and will support progression to Engineering Council Registration.
  • A full driving licence and a suitable car.
BENEFITS OF WORKING AT SPECTRUM
  • Spectrum offers an attractive remuneration package, including a competitive salary, profit sharing bonus scheme, private pension scheme and private healthcare and dental care insurance.
  • Relocation allowance if appropriate.
  • 5 weeks paid holiday. Time off in lieu is given to compensate for antisocial hours work.
  • Our head office in Biggleswade is a 40 minute train journey to central London, 40 minutes from London Luton Airport and 30 minutes from Cambridge.
  • Staff who prefer to work from home can do so for a few days each week, although initially they would be expected to be in the office for the majority of their time, when not on site.
  • Spectrum is an equal opportunity employer and a carbon neutral organisation.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
