We're currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Team Leader / Supervisor on behalf of a well-established business based in Norwich.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join a busy finance function, leading a small team while taking responsibility for operational performance, reporting, process improvement and supplier payment activities.

The Role

As Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the Purchase Ledger function, ensuring invoices and supplier payments are processed accurately and efficiently. You'll support stakeholders across operations whilst helping to drive continuous improvement across finance processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and supporting a small team of Accounts Payable Processors
• Overseeing invoice processing, supplier payments and reconciliations
• Ensuring accurate VAT treatment and adherence to internal controls
• Managing supplier onboarding and maintenance processes
• Supporting the resolution of supplier and stakeholder queries and escalations
• Producing operational reports and supporting month-end activities
• Reviewing and improving finance processes to increase efficiency and reduce payment delays

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience within a Senior Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger Supervisor or Team Leader position - This role would also suit something with extensive experience as a purchase ledger processor looking to take a step up into a management role.
• Experience managing, mentoring or supervising a small team
• Strong knowledge of supplier payments, reconciliations and accounts payable controls
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
• Good systems and Excel skills
