Accounts Payable Manager

  • Annual Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
  • Location: Sittingbourne
  • Job Type: Full-time, 12-month FTC

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join a non-profit housing provider based in Sittingbourne. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract where you will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable team and ensuring efficient management of the payment cycle.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee and manage the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Develop and implement efficient accounts payable processes and policies.
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information; ensure accuracy of financial statements.
  • Provide training, guidance, and leadership to accounts payable staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to reduce costs.
  • Prepare and present reports on accounts payable performance and metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve integration and efficiency of financial operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Manager, ideally within a non-profit or housing sector.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in team management.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
