A well-established accountancy practice in Dublin is seeking an experienced Accounting Director or Practice Director to join its senior leadership team.
The firm advises SMEs, owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs across accounting, audit, taxation, outsourcing and business advisory. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive practice offering flexible working, client variety and genuine career progression.
About the RoleAs Director, you will manage a diverse portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, acting as a trusted adviser to business owners, directors and senior management teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients and developing long-term relationships.
- Providing commercial accounting, audit and business advisory guidance.
- Identifying opportunities across tax, audit, outsourcing and advisory services.
- Leading client meetings and presenting financial insights.
- Managing, mentoring and developing accountants and trainees.
- Overseeing workflow, resources and service delivery.
- Leading due diligence, restructuring and business review assignments.
- Supporting company secretarial and compliance requirements.
- Advancing the use of cloud accounting, automation and AI technology.
- Monitoring fees, billing, work in progress and cash collection.
- Contributing to staff appraisals and performance development.
This senior accountancy practice role offers significant autonomy and is ideal for a commercially minded professional with strong leadership, technical and client relationship skills.
What You Need- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- At least seven years' post-qualification experience in accountancy practice.
- A minimum of two years' experience at Senior Manager level or above.
- Strong experience with SME clients and statutory financial statements.
- Previous experience in accounting advisory, due diligence or business reviews.
- Proven people management, mentoring and delegation skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and commercial abilities.
- Experience with cloud accounting software.
- An interest in accounting technology, AI and digital transformation.
