Accounting Operations Specialist

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology. We are expanding our finance function in Ireland to support EMEA operations and are seeking an Accounting Operations Specialist based in Dublin. The role focuses primarily on Accounts Receivable (AR) for the EMEA region, with support for Accounts Payable (AP) and finance projects as needed. The position allows a hybrid work environment with two on site days per week.
Responsibilities- Accounts Receivable (Primary Focus)
Own and maintain detailed schedules for revenue, deferred revenue, and AR. Keep accurate records of customer communications, payment statuses, and account notes. Manage the shared AR inbox, triage and respond to inquiries promptly, and ensure timely collection and accurate invoicing for SaaS, Fixed Pricing Contracts, and Time & Materials projects. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing disputes and payment discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable Support
Provide AP coverage as required, including processing vendor invoices and expense reports, managing payment runs, and resolving vendor queries. Ensure continuity of AP processes and maintain vendor relationships.
- Accounting Support
Support month end close for EMEA entities, reconcile AR/AP sub ledgers to the general ledger, and prepare journal entries related to AR, deferred revenue, and bad debt reserves.
- Project Work
Support finance projects such as systems implementations, process migrations, and cross functional initiatives, applying an operations mindset to scale processes.
- Process Improvement
Identify and propose enhancements to AR and AP workflows, internal controls, and reporting accuracy. Document and drive continuous improvement of SOPs for scalability and audit readiness.
- Analysis & Action
Prepare data driven financial reports focused on AR ageing and collections KPIs. Identify risks, trends, and opportunities to improve cash flow and working capital management.
- Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the on ground point of contact for AR and AP activities within EMEA, partner with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Vendors to address related inquiries.
- Other Ad Hoc Duties
Assist the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years of experience in AR and/or AP or broader accounting operations.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with IFRS and ASC 606.
- High attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, global environment.
- Strong work ethic, energetic, and positive attitude.
- Accounting credential (completed or in progress).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in a SaaS/technology multi entity environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Leapfin, or Coupa.
- Prior exposure to both AR and AP functions, or demonstrated quick learning of new finance processes.
- Competitive salary ranging from €49,800 to €67,200 EUR, with bands varying by region and experience.
