For our client, an internationally active SME in the commodity trading sector, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on accounting professional to join their team. In this role, you will take full ownership of the company s financial accounting and work closely with the CFO. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives on responsibility and enjoys operating in a fast-paced, international environment. We are looking for someone who is independent, self-managed, and curious to learn and develop.

Accountant (m/f/d)% International Commodity Trading (Englisch & German required) Your tasks

• Full ownership of financial accounting and reporting
• Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
• Management of trade accounting activities, including revenue accruals, COGS, inventory valuation, and collateral control
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Management of payment processes and ongoing communication with banks
• Close collaboration with external auditors and support during audit processes
• Maintenance, improvement, and further development of accounting and finance systems
• Provision of administrative and finance-related support to the General Manager
• Payroll accounting, including social security contributions (limited headcount)
• Active involvement in the upcoming ERP implementation

Your profile

• Completed education or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (a Swiss Federal Certificate is an advantage)
• At least three years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in an international environment (experience in commodity trading is a strong plus)
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems; experience with ERP implementations is a strong advantage
• Fluent in English (company language) and proficient in German for communication with local and tax authorities
• Independent, well-structured, and reliable working style
• High attention to detail, with a strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn
