Job Title: Senior Accountant - Corporate Services

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Our client is a global financial services provider operating across fund services, digital banking, depositary, and custody. The organisation has grown significantly through acquisition and continues to expand across key European markets.

Context for Hire

This hire supports the continued growth of the Portugal business and strengthens the Corporate Services team. There is a clear need for senior oversight, improved stability, and stronger technical leadership within a team of 20. The role is also driven by regulatory requirements, with a mandatory need for a certified accountant in Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of accounting and tax compliance for a portfolio of clients

• Act as the designated Contabilista Certificado for regulated activities

• Provide oversight and review of junior team output

• Manage multiple client relationships in a dynamic, multi client environment

• Support process improvements and operational consistency

• Contribute to business development and client growth where possible

Team Structure

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, working within a team of 20 including junior accountants.

Required Experience

• Certified accountant registered with the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados

• Strong background in Portuguese accounting and tax compliance

• Experience within professional services, consultancy, or multi client environments

• Ability to manage stakeholders and operate with commercial awareness

• Preference for candidates from mid tier firms or smaller practices

Success in Role

Practical Details

• Location: Lisbon

• Hybrid model: 2 days in office, 3 remote

• Salary: circa €30,000 base plus benefits and bonus

• Interview process: one to two stages, fast tracked
