Job Description

JOIN OUR JOURNEY

Medialab is the UK's leading independent media agency, and one of the fastest growing in the industry. We're a media agency that's made differently: purpose-led, data-driven, founder-run, and proudly independent.

Our entrepreneurial spirit means success is rewarded, and there are no limits to what you can achieve, which our employees agree with, evidenced by being a Campaign 'Best Place to Work' for the last 4 years in a row. We are IPA Effectiveness accredited, an IPA People-First agency, and widely awarded including a double-gold at the 2024 IPA Effectiveness Awards for our work with Laithwaites.

Our independence means we can focus 100% on doing the right thing to secure success for our clients and our brilliant people. We work with a wide variety of clients including Sharps Bedrooms, SunLife, Standard Life, Laithwaites Wine, EMMA, Save the Children, Mind, Guide Dogs, Hovis, Alzheimer's Society, RNLI, and Clearscore.

OUR VALUES

  • Commit to Doing the Right Thing (Take ownership and be accountable)
  • Help People Flourish (Invest in people)
  • Dig Deeper to Understand Better (Data-driven curiosity)

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

Working at Medialab comes with lots of perks including all the usual things you would expect, such as a competitive salary package, pension, season ticket loans, cycle-to-work scheme, weekly social events, and big summer/end-of-year parties.

On top of that, we offer extra incentives which make life at Medialab even more rewarding:

  • Time to Unwind - 25 days holiday (+ Christmas closure), birthday & mental health day off, flexi-hours, and work abroad scheme.
  • Hybrid Working - Balance between home and office. We welcome requests for flexible working arrangements from the commencement of employment.
  • Career Growth - Quarterly reviews, CPD Platinum training, mentoring, and leadership support.
  • Health & Wellbeing - Private medical insurance, health cash plan, gym discounts, wellbeing apps, and free professional counselling.
  • Supporting Families - Enhanced parental leave and life assurance.
  • Giving Back - Paid charity days and sustainability initiatives.
  • Perks & Rewards - Retail discounts, long-service trips, and an unforgettable team culture.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

We're looking for an Account Director to lead on two of our key charity clients.

You will report directly to the Business Director and line manage an Account Manager. You'll be a central figure in a high-performing team, working collaboratively with key stakeholders including five other Account Executives.

This is a client-facing leadership role, focused on day-to-day oversight, strategic planning, and delivery excellence across a diverse range of campaigns. While the work spans multiple channels, a strong grasp of digital media is essential due to the complexity and breadth of activity we manage.

One client is entering its second year of partnership with us following a landmark 2024 Brand campaign launch and a newly completed Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) project, making this a pivotal and exciting time to get involved.

For the other, we've recently wrapped a high-impact Brand campaign using TV, BVOD, radio, and social channels.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

You will lead integrated media planning and execution across various products and audiences, including:

  • Client 1: Managing campaigns across DRTV, print, social, search, and display - covering both cash and regular giving products, as well as upper-funnel brand activity. You'll be pivotal in strengthening the client relationship, providing strategic leadership, and project management excellence to evolve the partnership.
  • Client 2: Steering campaign development and execution for a well-established client, including major brand campaigns and always-on social initiatives. This includes working across media types and formats, from TV and partnerships to digital activations, to drive both reach and resonance.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Must Have Skills

  • Proven expertise in client servicing and stakeholder relationship management
  • Strong strategic and media planning capabilities
  • Proficiency with planning and insight tools (e.g., YouGov, TGI, etc.)
  • Excellent project and task management skills
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience in digital campaign planning and execution

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience managing offline media campaigns (e.g., TV, radio, press)
