Location: Haringey
Pay: £95-£115 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full Time Long Term

A high-achieving secondary school in Haringey is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Academic Mentor to join its team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to support students academically while gaining first-hand experience in a thriving school environment.

Whether you are considering teacher training, educational psychology or another career in education, this role will provide you with invaluable experience working alongside experienced teachers and school leaders.

The Role

As an Academic Mentor, you will:

  • Deliver one to one and small group interventions across a range of subjects.
  • Support students to improve their confidence, attainment and progress.
  • Assist teachers during lessons and provide classroom support.
  • Help prepare learning resources and intervention materials.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support students preparing for assessments and examinations.
  • Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a degree (2:2 or above preferred).

  • Is reliable, proactive and committed to working throughout the academic year.

Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
