On behalf of PwC, we are looking for a ABAP Developer (SAP S/4 Hana) for a 6 Month contract based in Leeds (as and when required).

The Role & Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to support S/4HANA development within a utilities environment focused on asset and pipeline management. The role involves delivering high-quality developments, supporting integrations across enterprise systems, and collaborating closely with design, testing, and business teams.

The successful candidate will participate in technical design discussions, system integration activities, testing cycles, and Agile delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance solutions in SAP S/4HANA using ABAP 7.4/7.5 standards.
• Apply modularization techniques (Function Modules, Classes, Methods).
• Build and maintain CDS Views and Data Dictionary objects.
• Develop enhancements including User Exits, BADIs, and Enhancement Framework.

Integration & Interfaces

• Develop and support interfaces using BAPIs and OData.
• Work across integrated environments including SAP, CRM, and Microsoft Dynamics.
• Support enterprise integrations leveraging Microsoft Azure Middleware.
• Work with geo-spatial and asset data across multiple systems.

Testing & Delivery

• Participate in unit testing, system integration testing, and UAT.
• Investigate and resolve defects and performance issues.
• Provide ongoing support during deployment and post-release stabilization.

Agile Collaboration

• Attend SCRUM ceremonies and provide regular status updates.
• Collaborate with Design Leads on technical solutions and architecture decisions.
• Support continuous improvement within Agile delivery teams.

Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:

• Strong ABAP development experience (5-7 years).
• Experience within EAM/PM (notifications, work orders, asset management).
• CDS Views and Object-Oriented ABAP.
• ALV Classical and Interactive reporting.
• SAP Workflow development and troubleshooting.
• Performance tuning using SQL Trace and Runtime Analysis.
• Knowledge of SAP coding standards and optimization techniques.
• Understanding of enterprise integration patterns.

Desirable:

• Experience with Fiori/UI5.
• Experience in utilities or asset-intensive industries.
