Service Desk Engineer

REED Technology are delighted to partner with a fantastic MSP who are seeking a Service Desk Engineer to join their team in Belfast. This role involves a wide range of technical support tasks, from remote desktop support to network security management. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and must possess excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage user and email accounts.
  • Monitor client environments remotely and manage alerts.
  • Provide remote desktop support for PCs, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Prepare and deploy new equipment.
  • Support Office 365 environments including Email and MS Teams.
  • Manage file and folder permissions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation.
  • Visit client sites and liaise with third-party application vendors.
  • Manage networking and security, including switches and firewalls.
  • Handle anti-virus and anti-malware management.
  • Manage mail filtering, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Handle calls and log tickets effectively.

Essential criteria:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Operating Systems including Windows 10/11.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite and Windows Server / Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of anti-virus and anti-malware solutions, and mail filtering.
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle with relevant insurance cover.
