Job Description

Smile Education are proud to be supporting a mainstream primary school in Burton-on-Trent in the recruitment of an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide1:1 supportfor a pupil.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and skilled individual with experience supporting children withADHD or those currently undergoing an ADHD diagnosis.

The Role

You will be working on1:1 basis, supporting a pupil with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and manage their behaviour effectively.
This role requires someone who can:

  • Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
  • Support learning both inside and outside the classroom
  • Deliver activities in line with the curriculum
  • Promote positive behaviour and confidently de-escalate challenging situations
  • Work independently while also contributing to the wider school team
  • Liaise effectively with parents and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A minimumLevel 2 qualificationin Childcare, Health & Social Care, Teaching Assistant or similar
  • Recent experience supporting children withADHD or similar needs
  • Confidence managing and supportingchallenging behaviour
  • The ability to fully immerse themselves in school life
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, patient and nurturing approach
Requirements:
  • Anenhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Smile Education
  • Recent experience in a similar role
  • Ability to provide relevant references
