zOS Mainframe Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced z/OS System Programming Engineer to join our dynamic infrastructure team. This critical role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing the z-platform environment that underpins our enterprise systems. You'll work with cutting-edge Mainframe technology to ensure high availability, performance, and security across our global operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain the z/OS environment to meet the firm's computing needs.
• Manage and optimize z/OS catalogs and system components.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, especially under high-pressure conditions.
• Support system and software installations, customizations, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development, testing, and production environments.
• Participate in weekend support and on-call rotation schedules.

Required Skills & Experience

• Expert-level knowledge of z/OS internals
• Proven experience in catalog management
• Strong USS/OMVS and HCD/hardware configuration skills
• Solid background in troubleshooting and problem diagnosis
• Hands-on experience with ISV software installations
• Skilled in test design for software validation
• Experience in REXX Scripting

Nice to Have

• Experience with z/OSMF, REST APIs, Kafka, LinuxOne, Ansible, Python
• Knowledge of Assembler for usermod maintenance and dump analysis
