Primary School Normanton, Wakefield
Start: Immediately after May Half-Term Full-time Until at least Summer Holidays
Are you an experienced and confident Key Stage 1 teacher looking for a rewarding, full-time role to see out the academic year? We're working closely with a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in the Normanton area of Wakefield who are seeking a fully qualified, experienced Year 1/2 teacher to join their team straight after the May school holidays.
This is a full-time teaching role, running until at least the end of the summer term, offering consistency, support, and the chance to really make a difference in the final stretch of the year.
The School
This is a friendly, community-focused primary school with a supportive leadership team and a positive staff culture. The school values strong teaching, teamwork, and creating an environment where both pupils and staff can thrive. You'll be stepping into an established classroom with clear expectations, support from experienced colleagues, and leadership that genuinely values its teachers.
The Role
- Full-time class teacher position in Year 1/2
- Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
- Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour, and progress
- Assess, track, and support pupils to make strong progress
- Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure continuity and consistency
We're Looking For
This role would particularly suit teachers who:
- Hold QTS and have recent, proven experience teaching in KS1
- Are confident managing a classroom independently on a full-time basis
- Bring energy, creativity, and strong classroom presence
- Are adaptable, professional, and committed to seeing the class through to the end of term
- Want to make a meaningful impact rather than just "fill a gap"
ECT's are not suitable for this role - the school is specifically seeking someone experienced who can hit the ground running.
Why Apply Through Reed?
- Competitive pay, paid weekly
- Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement
- Straightforward, honest communication
- Opportunities for future work beyond this role
If you're an experienced KS1 teacher looking for stability, a supportive school, and the chance to finish the year strong with a lovely class, we'd love to hear from you.
