Youth Vaping Project Officer

This is a new and exciting role which will involve research, development and coordination to create and deliver locally informed, evidence-based, young-person centred approaches to understand, prevent and reduce vaping among children and young people. The postholder will work with young people, schools, youth settings, parents/carers, health partners, community organisations, and other stakeholders to deliver evidence-based education, engagement, and early intervention activity, helping to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities.
Job responsibilitiesWe are seeking a motivated, passionate, and proactive individual to join our team in an exciting new role focused on understanding, preventing, and reducing vaping among children and young people across Solihull. This position will lead the research, development, coordination, and delivery of an evidence-based pilot youth vaping prevention and cessation programme, using local insight and best practice to create impactful, young person-centred interventions. Working closely with young people, schools, colleges, youth services, parents and carers, healthcare professionals, public health colleagues, and community organisations, you will develop and deliver educational workshops, awareness campaigns, and behaviour change initiatives designed to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities. The role involves building strong partnerships, creating age appropriate resources and communication materials, gathering feedback to inform service improvement, and monitoring and evaluating project outcomes. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, contributing to reports and presentations, supporting partnership meetings and events, and ensuring all activities comply with safeguarding, information governance, GDPR, and organisational policies. This is a rewarding and varied role within a developing service, requiring excellent organisational skills, sound judgement, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to continuous learning. Hybrid working may be available; however, significant time will be spent within community and educational settings, with travel across the local area and occasional evening work required to support engagement activities. An enhanced DBS check may be required for this post.
Job Specific Requirements- Enhanced DBS check
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel where required by the role.
- Experience of supporting or delivering projects, programmes, or community-based activity.
- Experience of working with children, young people, or partner organisations in education, health, community, or youth settings.
- Experience of delivering education or training sessions.
- Experience of monitoring and evaluation in a project or public health context.
- Relevant qualification in public health, health promotion, youth work, education, or a related field.
