The Yorkshire County Cricket Club Limited (the Club) is delighted to open applications for an Independent Non-Executive Director to join its Board of Directors. This is a pivotal and compelling time to become part of the leadership of one of the world's most famous and successful cricket clubs, and home of the premier international cricket venue, Headingley Cricket Ground. As a Non-Executive Director, you will play a key role in shaping the Club's strategic direction and ensuring the highest standards of governance and integrity are upheld.
Role Title: Independent Non-Executive Director
Reports to: Chair
Remuneration: Expenses only
Term: Three years
Commitment: Approximately 2 days a month, comprised of Board meetings, sub-committee meetings and hosting at home matches
Location: Headingley Cricket Club
There is a preference for Board meetings to be held in person where possible. Sub-committee meetings are typically a hybrid of in-person and virtual attendance.
We are seeking dynamic, forward-thinking, and progressive individuals who can contribute meaningfully to the future direction of the Club. In particular, we are keen to hear from applicants with expertise in Finance and Audit. We would also be interested in candidates with knowledge of the following areas:
- Information Technology
- Digital / New Technology
- Property / Venue Development and Redevelopment
- Legal
In addition to extensive knowledge of your specialist field, we are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous Board and stakeholder management experience is desirable
- A proven commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and a deep understanding of the needs of Yorkshire's communities
- Knowledge of governance structures and regulatory frameworks, ideally within UK sporting bodies or similar organisations
- The ability to operate effectively in a high-profile environment, with sound judgement around communications, press, and reputation management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to absorb complex information and provide balanced, informed guidance and challenge
