Service Desk Engineer (1st/2nd Line)

£30,000 - £35,000

6 months onsite Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days remote thereafter)

We are working with a growing and fast-paced Managed Service Provider in Belfast who are looking to appoint a driven and customer-focused Service Desk Engineer to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong 1st/2nd Line Engineer who thrives in a busy MSP environment and is keen to further develop their Microsoft 365 and infrastructure skills.

The Role

You will be responsible for handling Level 1 and Level 2 support tickets, managing approximately 60-80 tickets per week in a dynamic service desk environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality remote support to a broad client base.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Microsoft 365 support (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
  • User account creation and permissions management (AD & M365)
  • Windows 10/11 support
  • Remote desktop support for PCs, laptops, and mobile devices
  • Troubleshooting email and mail filtering issues
  • Anti-virus and anti-malware management
  • Backup and disaster recovery support
  • Basic networking and firewall troubleshooting
  • Ticket logging and call handling
  • Contributing to technical documentation
  • Occasional client site visits
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years' experience in a Service Desk / IT Support role
  • Strong Microsoft 365 support experience
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows OS and Active Directory
  • Background working in a fast-paced MSP environment
  • Comfortable managing high ticket volumes (60-80 per week)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Driven, motivated and eager to learn
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
