Part-Time (Mon-Thurs Afternoons + Full Day Friday)

I am currently working in partnership with a welcoming, community-driven primary school in the Batley (WF17) area to recruit an experienced Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher for a long-term role starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that places a strong emphasis on high standards, inclusive practice, and developing confident, well-rounded learners within a supportive and nurturing environment.

The Role
  • Teaching a Year 5/6 class on a long-term basis
  • Working pattern: Monday to Thursday - afternoons
  • Friday - full day
  • Delivering engaging and challenging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
  • Supporting pupils through a critical stage of their primary education, including preparation for transition to secondary school
  • Working collaboratively with a dedicated staff team who value consistency, creativity, and pupil wellbeing

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have recent and relevant experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5/6 essential)
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment expectations
  • Be confident in delivering high-quality teaching that drives pupil progress
  • Have excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Be reliable, committed, and able to contribute to the wider school ethos
