Location: HaringeySalary: £95-£110 per day (dependent on experience)Start Date: September 2026Contract: Long-term, full-time
About the Role
Long Term Futures are working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Haringey to appoint a Year 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding long-term role where you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent, tailored support that helps the child engage positively with learning and school life.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs
- Building a strong, trusting relationship to support emotional regulation
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and routines
- Supporting access to the curriculum through differentiated approaches
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
- Promoting a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Backgrounds in psychology, youth work, mental health, or related fields are highly desirable
