Year 2 Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Full-Time Long-Term Opportunity Immediate Start

Hereis a well-regarded Roman Catholic primary school catering for pupils aged 3-11, located in Mossley, Ashton-under-Lyne. The school is known for its caring ethos, strong community values, and commitment to providing a positive and nurturing environment for all pupils.

Duties as a Year 2 Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils within a Year 2 classroom on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Help develop pupils' literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Support children preparing for Key Stage 1 assessments
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Assist with classroom preparation and organisation
  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Ideal Year 2 Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable
  • Experience within a school or educational setting is advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Understanding of Key Stage 1 learning and development
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
