A large 3-form entry primary school in Uxbridge is looking for a Year 2 Teacher to join its team from November 2026 on a full-time, long-term temporary basis, with the role running until the end of the academic year.
The school has a diverse school community, established teaching teams and a focus on high expectations for pupils' learning and behaviour. With three classes across each year group, teachers have opportunities to work collaboratively, share ideas and support consistency across the curriculum.
This is an opportunity to take responsibility for a Year 2 class during an important stage in primary education, helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and core skills as they progress through KS1 and prepare for KS2.
The RoleYou'll be responsible for a Year 2 class, delivering a broad and engaging curriculum while supporting pupils' progress throughout the year.
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum.
- Teaching English, maths and foundation subjects.
- Supporting pupils with phonics, reading and the development of key literacy and numeracy skills.
- Assessing pupil progress and adapting lessons to meet different learning needs.
- Maintaining positive behaviour and clear classroom routines.
- Working closely with the parallel Year 2 teachers to share planning, resources and ideas.
- Supporting pupils' academic progress, confidence and personal development.

Who Should Apply?The school is open to applications from both ECTs and experienced primary teachers.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Primary teaching experience, ideally within KS1.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum.
- A good understanding of assessment and progression within KS1.
- A positive, flexible approach and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing.
- Full-time, long-term temporary teaching position starting after October half-term 2026.
- Outer London M1-M6 pay scale (£39,739-£50,617).
