We're currently recruiting for a Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming Primary School in Derby on a long-term basis starting in September.
You'll be joining a supportive and inclusive school that is committed to providing children with a positive transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. The school values creativity, collaboration and high-quality teaching to help every child reach their full potential.

Your main responsibilities will include:Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
Supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into Year 1
Assessing progress and adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs
Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents
Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence
Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Recent experience teaching within KS1, ideally Year 1
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and phonics
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Strong communication and organisational skills
Passionate about providing engaging and inclusive learning experiences

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
