We're looking for a hardworking and reliable Yard Operative to join our busy Oxford branch.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role involving outdoor work, building materials handling, and delivering excellent service to trade and retail customers.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Loading and unloading building materials, including timber and roofing products
  • Picking, checking and preparing customer orders accurately
  • Assisting customers collecting goods from the yard
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Operating forklift trucks (where trained and authorised)
  • Supporting goods-in and stock management activities
  • Working with colleagues to ensure smooth branch operations
  • Following all health and safety procedures
What We're Looking For
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Previous yard, warehouse or builders merchant experience (desirable)
  • Forklift Truck Licence (preferred but not essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
  • Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment
  • Reliable, organised and team-focused approach
  • Knowledge of building materials would be advantageous
Working Hours

Week:1

Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 16:30

Week:2

Monday to Friday : 07:00-16:30

Saturday: 8:00am - 12:00pm
