Workshop Labourer

Location - York
Pay - £13.97 per hour
Temporary contract - Full-time hrs (Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:15, early finish Friday - 15:15)

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Workshop Labourer to join our client team at their busy logistics site in York. This is a hands on role supporting the smooth day to day operation of workshop and yard, working primarily outdoors alongside an experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work in a fast paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:15
• Friday: 07:30 - 15:15 (early finish)
• Includes: 15 minute morning break and 30 minute lunch
• Total: 39 hours per week

• Cleaning trailer exteriors and sweeping trailer interiors
• Steam cleaning trailers, including undersides, in preparation for MOT
• Supporting general workshop and yard maintenance
• Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe
• Assisting with equipment cleaning and waste disposal
• Supporting pallet management within the logistics operation
• Carrying out driving duties (collection and delivery of parts using a 3.5T sprinter van)
• Assisting the workshop team and labourer with ad hoc tasks as required

• Previous experience in a similar workshop, yard, or logistics role is desirable
• Experience using steam cleaning equipment (ideally for trailer cleaning) is preferred
• A valid, clean UK driving licence is essential
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player with a good work ethic
