Job Description
Workshop Apprentice (4 year contract)

Salary: Upto £380.34 per week during first year; increasing annually throughout apprenticeship up to £451.65 per week in fourth year (Dependent on age).

About the Role

We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Apprentice to join our Workshop team.

This is a structured 4-year vehicle workshop apprenticeship, where you will develop the skills, knowledge and qualifications needed to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of service vehicles. You'll work alongside experienced professionals while studying towards a Level 4 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician qualification.

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about mechanics, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to build a long-term career in vehicle maintenance.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Maintain, service and repair a range of service vehicles
  • Diagnose faults in engines, electrical systems, transmissions, hydraulics and chassis components
  • Assist with testing and maintaining operational vehicle readiness
  • Fit and replace parts and components
  • Work with external suppliers where required
  • Complete job sheets and maintain accurate records (paper and electronic)
  • Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment
  • Contribute to high standards of health, safety and housekeeping
Training & Development
  • Attend college regularly and successfully complete your training each year
  • Work towards a Level 4 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance
  • Build a comprehensive training portfolio throughout your apprenticeship
  • Gain real-world experience in a fast-paced workshop environment
What We're Looking For Essential Criteria
  • Aged 16+ and not in full-time education
  • Willingness to commit to a 4-year apprenticeship programme
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with others
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Awareness of health and safety practices
  • Flexible approach and willingness to learn
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
  • Must be available to start your apprenticeship in September 2026
Desirable
  • GCSEs (Grade 4-9 / A-C or equivalent) in English and Maths
