About the Client: Neway International are seeking Working Denbighshire Engagement Officers to join our client, Denbighshire County Council, within the Housing & Communities Group.

Working Denbighshire is a key service focused on tackling poverty, removing barriers to employment, and empowering residents to realise their potential. The team works collaboratively with community groups, employability projects, and internal council departments to deliver high quality, accessible support across the county.

Responsibilities
  • As a Working Denbighshire Engagement Officer, you will act as the public face of the service-raising awareness, building trust, and encouraging participation in community-based employability programmes.
  • You will work across Denbighshire, engaging with residents, community groups, and partner organisations to promote available support and help individuals progress towards meaningful employment.
  • This is a hands-on, community-focused role requiring flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping people overcome barriers.
  • Engage with "hard to reach" communities to build confidence, raise self-esteem, and encourage participation in employability activities.
  • Promote Working Denbighshire services to community groups, stakeholders, and residents across the county.
  • Attend events and community locations to provide information, advice, and signposting.
  • Support participants with complex barriers, encouraging involvement in a range of activities to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with monitoring frameworks and data protection requirements.
  • Identify operational risks, completing risk assessments and reporting as required.
  • Work in accordance with DCC policies, including safeguarding, lone working, health and safety, and equality and diversity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider Working Denbighshire team to support shared goals and service delivery.
  • Provide temporary cover and undertake additional duties where required to support smooth service operation.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience working within community settings in the public, voluntary, or community sector-ideally in employability, education, social care, or advice services.
  • Experience promoting services and engaging with individuals facing poverty or barriers to employment.
  • Strong understanding of how unemployment and disadvantage impact individuals and communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire confidence, demonstrate empathy, and build rapport.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Confident IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and community groups.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and creative in approach.
  • Ability to travel across Denbighshire (car driver/owner required). Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable.
  • Jobs are provided by the Find a Job Service from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
