The role sits within the Business Support division under the Corporate & Support Services Directorate, reporting to the HR Manager (Policy and Projects). The team is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and delivering impactful HR initiatives to support the organisation's strategic objectives.

About you
  • Hold a degree in any discipline with at least 2 years' experience in HR or Workforce Planning, or 4 years' relevant experience
  • Full, current CIPD membership (Associate or Chartered)
  • Demonstrable experience advising managers on HR matters, including employee relations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to work effectively with Line Managers and Trade Unions
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate organisational change
What you'll do
  • Develop and implement workforce plans aligned with organisational objectives to ensure staffing needs are met now and in the future
  • Provide expert advice to managers on all HR and employee relations issues, including recruitment, attendance management, and performance
  • Lead on the management of workforce data, analysing trends to inform strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop HR policies and support their effective implementation
  • Support the Council's recruitment process, including chairing panels and ensuring compliance with legislation
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives designed to improve workforce effectiveness and employee engagement
  • Promote best practice in workforce planning and develop proactive strategies to address future staffing challenges
