Remuneration

The salary scale for the post is:

New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.

As per HR Circular 012/25 Please note that previous experience working in the public service counts only where the individual was employed directly by the relevant Civil Service/Public Body. It does not apply for temporary assignments with those bodies while engaged as an agency worker and employed by a private sector employment agency. Exemptions can be found at the following link.

Candidates will normally be given at least two weeks' notice of interview. The timescale may be reduced in exceptional circumstances.

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Clinical Nurse Manager 2, CAMHS, Galway Roscommon & Mayo Mental Health Services from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Galway/Roscommon & Mayo CAMHS Mental Health Services

CAMHS provides a comprehensive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service across Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. The service provides both inpatient and outpatient services for Children and Adolescents in the region with the inpatient unit covering Donegal to Limerick.

CAMHS is a Mental Health Service is for anyone under eighteen years experiencing mental health difficulties. It is a referral based service with community teams providing assessment and a range of supportive interventions to assist in the management and treatment of mental health conditions.

Post specific requirements

Demonstrate depth and breadth of nursing experience in the speciality area of Child and Adolescent Mental Health as relevant to the role.

Other requirements specific to the post

Successful Candidate will be working within a team made up of nursing, Allied disciplines and HCA's, with a Consultant Psychiatrist as the Clinical Lead. They will be working with young people varying in age from typically 12 to 17. This setting accepts all acute generic mental health illnesses. The candidate must be available to work long days, weekends and night duty for the inpatient role. (Shift work). Access to own transport to fulfil the requirements of the role. The candidate working within an inpatient unit must be able to train for and perform Therapeutic Management of Violence should the need arise.
