Welfare Benefits Advisor

Salary: £32,000.00 - £38,000.00 per year

Welfare Benefits Advisor - Customer Income Team, Bristol (Hybrid, minimum 2 days in office per week)

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with budgeting and welfare benefit advice, including completion of Income and Expenditure statements.
• Handle benefit and grant applications and signpost customers to additional support.
• Work with internal and external partners, such as Housing Benefit, Department of Work and Pensions, independent money, debt or legal advice services.
• Assist vulnerable customers with kindness, empathy and a diplomatic, confidential approach.
• Make effective decision making and prioritise a busy workload.

Qualifications

• Up to date working knowledge of the benefits system.
• Experience supporting customers to complete statements and applications.
• Ability to work with internal and external partners to achieve the best outcome for the customer.
• Experience supporting vulnerable customers.
• Effective decision making, prioritisation and confidentiality skills.
• Car and full driving licence, as travel is required.
