Job Description

Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, you'll play a core part in delivering fantastic customer service. You'll provide a warm welcome and give information about the Attingham Estate to make sure each visitor has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Salary: £13.25 per hour

Contract/duration: Fixed term contract until 03-Jan-2027. There are two contracts available

Hours/working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can't guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We'll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.

For this role, you'll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you'll be part of our Visitor Welcome team of Welcome and Service Assistants, and an amazing group of volunteers. Our properties are full of life and locally loved, the Welcome Team are based flexibly across Attingham Park, Sunnycroft, Town Walls Tower and Cronkhill throughout the year.

The Welcome Team are very enthusiastic about welcoming everyone and the excellent service our team provides plays a huge part in us fulfilling this goal.

What you'll be doing

Attingham Park welcomes over 610,000 visitors a year and is open 7 days a week, 364 days a year. You'll be on hand in our Visitor Reception to answer queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit, to help with site coordination and to talk about conservation work and exciting programming and events for our visitors to enjoy.

As the largest conservation charity in Europe, we work hard to raise funds to continue to care for our sites forever for everyone. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you'll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day. You'll promote National Trust Memberships and actively talk to our visitors about how they can support our cause.

This is an active role; you'll deliver high standards of presentation at the property and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent. You'll help maintain site presentation through litter picks, ensuring signage is clean and presentable and maintaining the visitor reception tidiness and cleanliness through the day.
