Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Web Content Editor for our client a local government organisation in Kensington.
The successful candidate will be working with teams across, you'll be responsible for editing web content, helping to set content standards and helping to ensure content is up to date, consistent and meets the current version of the Website Content Accessibility Guidelines to Level AA.
This role is a 3 month initial contract with the possibility to extend. The position will be made permanent in time and there will be an opportunity for post holders to apply for the permanent role. This role is hybrid working with 3 days in the office required.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Oversee the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of (corporate website) and microsites, including site structure, navigation, and content strategy.
- Ensure all web content aligns with best practices in usability, accessibility (WCAG), and web writing standards.
- Manage technical configurations and CMS platforms to meet agreed service requirements and technical specifications.
- Submit and manage support tickets related to website bugs and technical issues.
- Promote and embed a user-centred approach to digital content and service delivery across the organisation.
- Ensure websites and digital services comply with accessibility standards and Government Digital Service (GDS) guidelines.
- Use analytics and user feedback to inform content decisions and site improvements.
- Plan, prioritise, and manage digital projects, balancing multiple competing demands and meeting deadlines.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Communicate technical and non-technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Identify and engage key stakeholders, manage expectations, and drive consensus.
- Contribute to defining and evaluating digital strategies and policies to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on digital best practices, technologies, and service standards.
- Work autonomously while supporting team objectives and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Assess and manage risks associated with digital projects and website operations.
Personal Requirements:
- Minimum Requirement: GCSEs or equivalent in English and Mathematics at grades 5-9.
- Previous local government or similar organisation experience would be beneficial.
- Demonstrable knowledge and fine understanding of website management (site structures, mapping etc).
- Excellent understanding of good web writing practice. Basic HTML knowledge.
- Working knowledge of web languages and technology such as HTML, CSS, XML, CMS and web development tools.
- Experience of submitting support tickets for website bugs and issues.
Working Hours: 36.00hrs/9:00am - 17:00pm/Monday to Friday
Pay: £22.14 per hr
Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
