As a Water Meter Reader you will be responsible for collecting data from water meters for both commercial and residential properties. You will update meter reads accurately throughout the day on your handheld device, also entering the details on a handheld device at each location and providing excellent customer service.
What we offer- Basic pay: £13.01 - £13.85 per hour
- Weekly hours: 40-45 with flexible start and finish between 8am-8pm
- Average annual earnings: £27,000 - £31,000
- Bonus scheme with earnings up to £1,000 monthly
- Mostly Monday and Friday (occasionally Saturday) hours

- Overtime rates £16-£25 at manager's discretion

- Full UK driving licence with no more than 1 year, maximum 6 points, NO DR Offences
- Physically fit, expected to walk 5-6 miles per day, lift manholes for water meters, climb stairs and crouch, bend in tight spaces
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Clear DBS check (no unspent criminal convictions)
- Credit report check (no county court judgments, IVA, debt relief orders recorded for last 6 years)
- Previous customer service experience (preferred but not essential)
- Friendly personality with a professional approach
- Adherence to Health and Safety guidelines
Retrieving data from domestic, commercial, and industrial sites for water meters; 75% of meters are external; reading commercial properties including hospitals, schools, shopping precincts, etc. May involve heavy lifting for bigger manholes.
TrainingOne week training, both classroom based and field based with experienced meter reader.
