Warehouse Site Lead (all genders) Bleiswijk-NL

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Zalando is looking for a Site Lead (all genders) to oversee our state-of-the-art , 3PL-managed fulfilment centre in Bleiswijk (near Rotterdam), the Netherlands.

As the Site Lead (all genders) , you will be the central point of contact and key representative for all site-related interests. Your primary responsibility is to cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders and our crucial logistics service provider(s). You will lead the on-site Zalando team, which currently includes a Service Provider Manager (your direct report), a P&O Site Lead (dotted line), an IT Manager (dotted line), and five IT Technicians. You will also serve as the official Zalando representative for the site. As the operation continues to scale , this team is expected to grow in the coming years.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

In this strategic role, you will be the local face of Zalando Logistics, playing a vital part in satisfying thousands of customers every day. Given the 3PL-managed nature of the operation, your focus will be on high-level strategic contract management and ensuring the site's seamless alignment with the wider Zalando Logistics network and central HQ teams. You will be part of an international team managing fulfilment centres across Poland, Italy, France, and Sweden.

• This position demands expert collaboration and influencing skills . You will be adept at driving common objectives, both independently and, crucially, through others.
• Your responsibilities will include analysing and interpreting diverse reports (e.g., logistics KPIs), confidently guiding internal and external audits, and hosting high-profile site visits.
• You will steer the site's success across multiple dimensions operational, technical, quality, continuous improvement, labour , legal, financial, security, and safety, ensuring peak performance in both the short and long term.

• You possess outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to build strong, successful relationships.
• You are a natural team-builder and leader, adept at engaging and leading the local team while fostering an inclusive culture aligned with Zalando's Social Standards and Our Founding Mindset principles.
• You are passionate about logistics, with a deep understanding of processes along the entire fulfilment chain. Demonstrable experience in automated e-commerce and/or fashion logistics is highly advantageous .
• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent qualification) and bring 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar environment, such as fulfillment services or contract logistics, including proven leadership experience.
• You combine a practical, hands-on approach with strong analytical acumen and a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving.
• You are professionally fluent in both Dutch and English (written and spoken) and are willing to undertake occasional international travel to visit our other sites and offices.

ABOUT ZALANDO LOGISTICS OPERATIONS NETHERLANDS

Our site houses the largest e-commerce operation in the Benelux. It uses highly automated, cutting-edge solutions such as bag sorter and pick shuttles.

By the time we are fully operational we will operate an area of 143.000m2 and will ship almost 5 million items per week! We will process and ship thousands of orders every day - to customers in BeNeLux, France, and the UK.

For this site Zalando has outsourced the day to day operation to a Logistics Service provider, and the development and maintenance of the technical intralogistics systems to a Technical Service provider.
