OverviewWe have a new vacancy for aVolunteering Community Coordinatorwho will be responsible for coordinating the participation of volunteers and activists within LEAP Sportsand for ensuring that they are effectively supported, deployed and rewarded on their pathway. Volunteers, community activists and equality in sport activists are central to the work of LEAP Sports; they far outnumber our staff team and contribute significantly to our work through a wide range of activities including: running events and community actions; supporting delivery of projects and groups; research, policy and advocacy; representing our work, promotion and dissemination; practical support tasks.
Responsibilities- recognise and respect the place of volunteers and activists within LEAP Sports and be motivated towards their successful participation
- recruit, deploy andsupport volunteers, community activists and equality in sport activists
- work directly supporting volunteers on the Pride House Glasgow project
- undertake targeted actions to involve marginalised communities and underrepresented geographic communities.
- be skilled in digital work and supportthe development of new digital activism opportunities
The job is based at our office in Glasgow with some travel across Scotland.
The job is 22.5 hours per week, with a salary of £25,164 per annum pro rata. The contract will be initially fixed term until the end of March 2027.
