Veterinary Surgeon - Independent Practice

Salary- £40,000-£60,000

The exact salary within this banding will be commensurate with experience.

  • Established: Independent, family-owned practice with a reputation for continuity and high standards of care
  • Facilities: Orthopaedic theatre, keyhole surgery, dental suite with X-ray, ultrasound, chemotherapy provision, and full surgical kit
  • Culture: Approachable, supportive, and sociable team who value collaboration and development
  • Clients: Loyal, mixed client base - from insured high-end to charity-supported patients
  • Location: Suburban Sheffield and retail-park Bolsover - easy access, free on-site parking

Your Role:

  • Hours: 4 days per week Mondays or Fridays off for a permanent long weekend (Part-time considered)
  • Consults: 15 minutes as standard, with flexibility for more complex cases
  • Weekends: 1:4 Saturdays (8:30am-3:30pm, sole charge)
  • OOH: None - covered by Vets Now
  • Caseload: Routine GP work plus varied surgical caseload including orthopaedics, chemotherapy, amputations, and emergency work
  • Support: 6 RVNs, 3 student nurses, and a team of experienced vets, including certificate holders in orthopaedics and imaging
