We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our independent workshop team in Maidenhead. Moving away from rigid main dealer targets and long hours, we offer a £36,000-£40,000 basic salary, permanent Monday-to-Friday hours (08:00-17:00, strictly no weekends), and an environment focused on technical quality over volume.

Your Role

As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Maidenhead workshop, you will:

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults across a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
  • Carry out routine vehicle servicing, scheduled preventative maintenance, and comprehensive system repairs to high standards.
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections and handle technical MOT preparation work efficiently.
  • Maintain precise digital job records and collaborate closely with the service management team and senior technicians.
What You Need
  • Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) with a proven track record as a Technician or Mechanic in a professional workshop. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
  • Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
  • Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop repair tasks.
  • Key Strengths: Strong diagnostic problem-solving skills, pride in quality workmanship, and a collaborative team attitude.
