We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our independent workshop team in Faringdon. Moving away from rigid corporate targets, we offer a £36,000-£40,000 basic salary, permanent Monday-to-Friday hours (08:00-17:30, no weekends), and an environment built on genuine technical autonomy and team support.

Your Role

As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Faringdon workshop, you will:

  • Perform scheduled servicing, routine maintenance, and safety inspections across various vehicle makes and models.
  • Execute mechanical repairs, component replacements, and major work on suspension, steering, and braking systems.
  • Apply diagnostic tools to identify, isolate, and repair electrical and mechanical faults cleanly.
  • Maintain precise job records and keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.
What You Need
  • Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair with a solid background in fault-finding and mechanical repair. F-Gas certification is preferred.
  • Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential. An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required.
  • Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop repair tasks.
  • Key Strengths: Strong problem-solving mindset, high attention to detail, and a collaborative work ethic.
