Our client is a Big 4 professional services firm with a market-leading reputation across Tax, Audit and Advisory. With a strong presence across the UK and internationally, the firm works with a broad portfolio of large corporates, international groups and high-growth businesses. Following continued growth within their Indirect Tax practice, they are looking to appoint a VAT & Indirect Tax Assistant Manager to join a high-performing team. This is an opportunity to gain exposure to complex, commercially focused advisory work within a collaborative environment that offers genuine long-term career progression.

Your new role

As a VAT & Indirect Tax Assistant Manager, you'll work closely with Managers, Senior Managers and Partners, supporting the delivery of technical VAT advisory services to a diverse client base across multiple sectors. You will play a key role in advisory projects, support on transactions and restructuring work, and help manage client relationships while developing your leadership and technical skills.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting on complex VAT advisory projects including transactions, restructuring and technical reviews
  • Managing day-to-day client queries and delivering commercially focused VAT advice
  • Assisting with HMRC enquiries, risk reviews and governance projects
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory services
  • Supporting with proposals and business development initiatives
Qualifications
  • CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong VAT technical experience gained within practice
  • Experience supporting advisory projects and managing client relationships
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
