Job Description
Overview 
The University of Sheffield is launching new modules and degree programmes and seeks an additional team member to develop and deliver innovative undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The role will focus on financial accounting and auditing teaching within the integrated curriculum.
Main duties and responsibilities- Work with the Accounting and Financial Management (AFM) Subject Group to develop and deliver financial accounting and auditing teaching across taught programmes, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity and alignment with the University Teaching and Learning Strategy.
- Improve and enhance the student experience and outcomes through programme delivery based on a detailed understanding of student needs and professional requirements.
- Behave ethically and act as a role model for students.
- Undertake scholarship activities in Accounting and Financial Management Education that positively impact student outcomes and influence at national or international level.
- Engage in recruitment and outreach activities, including participation in Open Days as required.
- Provide core administrative support for AFM programmes, such as student advising and mentoring.
- Provide effective line management where required.
- Represent the institution with external stakeholders to foster collaboration at a regional or national level.
- Work according to University quality assurance processes and other regulatory frameworks, including ACCA and CIMA.
- Contribute to the collective interests and values of the University through inclusive, collaborative working.
- Make a full and active contribution to the principles of the Sheffield Academic.
- Carry out other duties consistent with the grade and remit of the post.
- A PhD (or equivalent relevant experience) in a relevant subject - Essential.
- Experience of teaching Accounting, Financial Management in a Higher Education environment - Essential.
- Teaching qualification such as FHEA, PGCert Higher Education, or evidence of working towards - Essential.
- Experience of working and communicating with a team of staff - Essential.
- Experience of developing strong working relationships with partners within and external to Higher Education - Essential.
- Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving - Essential.
- Experience of working independently on project activities - Essential.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and effective IT skills - Essential.

Grade: 8
Salary: £48,822 - £58,225 per annum
Work arrangement: Full time
Duration: 1 September 2026 - 30 September 2027
