Underwriting Support Administrator
Our client, a well-established financial mutual, is seeking a Underwriting Support Administratorto join their Operations team, reporting to the Operations Director. The role is responsible for collecting and processing medical and lifestyle information to generate one-off premiums for client care plans, preparing and sending quotes to Financial Advisers, processing applications, and providing ongoing administrative support for active plans.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused administrator from an insurance, financial services or care background who is confident handling sensitive information and enjoys varied, relationship-led work across advisers, clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and verify medical, lifestyle and personal information to calculate one-off care plan premiums
- Input data into underwriting and premium calculation tools to generate accurate quotes
- Send quotes to Financial Advisers and respond promptly to queries
- Review completed acceptances for accuracy, following up on any outstanding information
- Maintain accurate records for active plans, including amendments, updates and annual existence checks
- Process death notifications sensitively, verifying documentation and updating records and payments accordingly
- Liaise with family representatives, care providers, Financial Advisers and internal teams
- Work closely with finance to ensure accurate billing, payments and record management
- Act as the main administrative point of contact for Financial Advisers, clients and their families
Requirements
- Strong administrative experience within insurance, financial services or a care setting
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident written and verbal communicator, able to convey information clearly to a range of audiences
- Comfortable handling sensitive medical and financial information confidentially
- Understanding of data protection and compliance requirements
- Proficient with IT systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience in underwriting administration or insurance quoting, or knowledge of care plans, is desirable
