1:1 Tutor - Alternative Provision (North Yorkshire) Flexible 2-6 Hours Per Day Full Academic Year Make a Real Difference
Do you want a role where every hour you teach can change a young person's future? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for compassionate, adaptable 1:1 Tutors to support children aged 5-16 in Alternative Provision across North Yorkshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students rebuild confidence, re-engage with education, and achieve their potential through personalised tuition.
The role is available for the full academic year, with the flexibility to choose 2-6 hours of work per day around your availability.
What You'll Be Doing- Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition in English and Maths (face-to-face or online).
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet EHCP and PEP targets.
- Build confidence, motivation and a positive attitude towards learning.
- Work alongside Virtual Schools, carers, social workers and education professionals to provide consistent support.
- Track progress and celebrate every success, no matter how small.
- Has experience teaching, tutoring or supporting children and young people, particularly those with SEMH needs or who are Looked After Children (LAC).
- Understands the challenges vulnerable learners can face.
- Can adapt their teaching style to suit individual needs.
- Is patient, reliable and passionate about making a difference.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle to travel across North Yorkshire.
- QTS, QTLS or another teaching qualification is desirable but not essential, we welcome applicants with relevant experience and the right attitude.
- Flexible working - choose between 2 and 6 hours per day.
