Job Description

East Midlands/ contract / Market related

We are currently working closely with a tuition provider who is looking for experienced, committed and passionate tutor/s to support one or two children who have SEND or SEMH.

Student 1:

A QTS tutor with extensive experience working with extremely anxious learners to work with an autistic Y10 learner who has missed a lot of school

2 hours/week to begin with (1 hour, twice a week) at learner's home in NG8, with the potential for more hours, dependent on how the learner responds to the tuition

Maths and English required, with science also need if/when hours are increased

  • Tutor will need to work with school's scheme of work, where appropriate

Student 2:

A QTS tutor/two QTS tutors to work with an autistic Y11 learner who has missed ample school

4 hours on a Monday and Tuesday, located at learner's home in NG5 and nearby quiet public locations, and potentially, over time, additional locations where enrichment excursions take place

Maths and English required, with the ability to support science a plus

Tutor will need to work with school's scheme of work, where appropriate

We are looking for someone to support with one or both students.

In order to be successful for this role you must have:

  • A Qualified teacher status is essential
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH
  • Knowledge and the ability to tutor Maths and/or English
  • A passion for working closely with children in a relevant setting.
  • Ability to stay calm and patient and understanding.
  • Ability to work with the students both 121 and in small groups.
