Job title: Trunk Sewer Technician (Ref 45352). Division: Asset Operations & Capital Delivery. Location: Hammersmith (PS), W6 9RS. Contract type: Permanent Full time. Salary: £29,349 per annum. Job grade A. Closing date: 05/06/2026.

About the Role

We are currently hiring for a Trunk Sewer Technician to join our Strategic Pumping & Trunks Operations Team covering North West London.

Day to day, you will be maintaining and operating the sewer network and its associated assets while carrying out basic mechanical maintenance and fault finding. The work involves confined space access in some of London's most challenging subterranean areas.

Day to day Responsibilities
  • Complete planned, emergency and defect maintenance of the trunk sewer network.
  • Physical maintenance of the sewer network and associated assets, e.g. penstock gates.
  • Operation of plant and equipment.
  • Cleaning, basic maintenance and fault finding.
  • Work in confined spaces, at heights and lift heavy loads (training provided).
Essential Criteria / Qualifications
  • Physically fit and prepared to work in a challenging environment daily, including manual handling activities to operate large mechanical assets and perform grounds maintenance.
  • Proactive approach, able to work positively and effectively within a team environment.
  • Keen and motivated team member, able to demonstrate initiative and a flexible approach to work.
  • Requirement to be clean shaven to wear respiratory protective equipment (RPE) correctly.
Additional Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in maintenance or a similar role advantageous.
  • Valid UK driving licence ideal but not essential; HGV training can be provided.
Working Hours and Location

Base location: Hammersmith (PS), W6 9RS.

Working hours: 38 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:45 pm; with 1 week out of 5 on the night shift from 9:00 pm - 5:30 am; opportunity to be included on the standby rota with additional payment.
