Treasury Manager

Location: Birmingham Salary: £42,000

We are looking for a Treasury Manager who will lead a team delivering cash and banking services with a focus on people development, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Treasury team, ensuring all money is managed in strict accordance with regulatory requirements and internal protocols.
  • Support, motivate, and organise team members by setting clear objectives, monitoring performance against targets, and providing regular feedback to encourage professional growth.
  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve processes to maintain high service delivery standards for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Collaborate closely with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure all control requirements are met and participate actively in monitoring the effectiveness of controls within the department.
  • Manage the allocation of incoming funds by identifying sources promptly and ensuring accurate posting to client accounts within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Resolve unidentifiable items efficiently, review bank reconciliations regularly, and ensure that no bank account balances become overdrawn at any time.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to team members regarding client monies management while ensuring all necessary quality assurance reviews are completed before information is released.
  • Assist with both internal and external audits by preparing financial information, reviewing procedures, and supporting control assessments as required.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of interest budgets and forecasts to support central finance reporting deliverables alongside senior colleagues.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business, enhancing the reputation of the finance function through successful project delivery.
What you bring
  • GCSE level qualifications including Maths and English are essential for this position.
  • Demonstrable experience leading a cash and banking team within property management or similar professional services environments is highly desirable.
  • Extensive practical knowledge of monies management processes along with financial operations expertise is required for success in this role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills ensures accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Proven ability to manage people effectively through strong interpersonal skills, mentoring abilities, and commitment to nurturing talent within teams.
  • A conscientious approach paired with an understanding of data protection issues ensures sensitive information is handled appropriately at all times.
