Job Overview

This position is suitable for a Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner seeking a varied project portfolio, excellent training and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and genuine long term career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre application advice.
  • Produce Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
  • Undertake traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments.
  • Analyse transport and traffic data to support development proposals.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Attend project meetings and stakeholder consultations.
  • Support planning applications and development projects from inception through to approval.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high quality transport planning solutions.
  • Assist in developing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Promote the consultancy's professional reputation through high quality service delivery.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.
  • Consultancy experience within Transport Planning.
  • Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
  • Proficient in industry standard traffic modelling and junction assessment software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, local authorities and project stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to project delivery.
  • Self motivated with strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
  • Chartered status or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Experience in highway design.
  • Experience undertaking or supporting Road Safety Audits.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
