Are you a logistics pro with an eye for detail and a passion for keeping things moving?
We are looking for a Transport Operations Specialist to serve as the backbone of our vehicle and plant fleet. In this role, you aren't just managing assets; you are ensuring our entire operation stays safe, legal, and efficient. From coordinating HGVs to mastering telematics, you will provide the hands-on support necessary to protect our Operator Licenses and keep our service delivery uninterrupted.
Fleet Coordination: You'll be the "air traffic control" for our cars, vans, HGVs, and plant, managing daily allocations, servicing schedules, and MOTs to minimize downtime.
Compliance & Governance: You'll act as the guardian of our regulatory standards, ensuring full alignment with DVSA requirements, Road Traffic legislation, and HGV gate checks.
Systems Mastery: You will leverage industry-leading tech (Lightfoot, Samsara, Key2, VOLS) to track performance, analyse camera footage, and manage tachograph data.
Incident & Supplier Management: When things go wrong, you're on the front lines-attending incidents, managing repairs, and liaising with suppliers like Enterprise to get us back on the road.
Driver Support: You'll coordinate essential training (DCPC), medicals, and familiarisation to ensure our team is qualified and confident.
Industry Expertise: Proven experience in fleet or logistics coordination within a regulated environment.
Technical Knowledge: A solid grasp of Operator License requirements, DVSA standards, and tachograph regulations.
Digital Fluency: Experience with fleet management and telematics systems, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Power BI are your friends here).
The "Hands-On" Factor: You're comfortable undertaking minor vehicle repairs (bulbs, fluids) and aren't afraid to get stuck into the operational details.
Communication Skills: You can talk to anyone-from HGV drivers and internal stakeholders to the Traffic Commissioner.
